Semi-formal attire for women

Color, time and season
Getting the details right
By day, soft and mid-tone colors look right: pastels, florals, dusty blues, sage, blush, light gray and tan. By night, shift to jewel tones, navy, charcoal and black. Black at a daytime wedding can feel heavy, so lighten it with a print or brighter accessories. Seasonal color helps too: brights and pastels in spring and summer, rust, olive and burgundy in fall, deep green and plum in winter. White, ivory and anything that could photograph as bridal stays off-limits at weddings unless the couple says otherwise.
